The FX 48-215 in Gawler Cream was the first car to bear the Holden name, driven off the Plant 1 assembly line by General Motors Managing Director Harold Bettle and Chief Engineer Russ Begg. The Prime Minister at the time, Ben Chifley, unveiled the car on 29th November 1948 in Seine Blue, exclaiming “It’s a beauty!” The Holden FX 48-215 represented the aspirations of millions of Australians - forever linked to our history, culture & sense of national pride…
